Placinta cu mere cu sos de caramel si inghetata de vanilie/Apple pie with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream
Ingrediente pentru placinta cu mere:
- 250 grame faina de grau;
- 120 grame unt rece, taiat in cubulete;
- 60 mL apa rece;
- 150 grame zahar;
- ¼ lingurita de sare;
- 8 mere medii;
- 1 lingurita de scortisoara macinata;
- 1 galbenus de ou crud;
- coaja rasa de la o portocala.
Ingrediente pentru sosul de caramel:
- 200 grame zahar;
- 120 mL smantana pentru gatit;
- 50 grame unt;
- 1 varf praf de sare.
Portii: 8
Timp de preparare: 1 ora si 30 minute
Mod de preparare:
Intr-un bol, puneti faina, 2 lingurite de zahar si ¼ lingurita de sare. Adaugati cuburile de unt rece peste ingrediente. Puneti treptat din apa rece si framantati aluatul pana incepe sa se lege. Cand aluatul capata o textura uniforma, infasurati-l intr-o folie de plastic si lasati-l la frigider pentru jumatate de ora. In tot acest timp puteti pregati umplutura pentru placinta. Intr-o oala puneti merele curatate, spalate si date prin razatoarea mare. Peste mere adaugati 140 grame de zahar si amestecati totul cu o lingura. Lasati umplutura la foc mediu aproximativ 10 minute pana cand merele devin moi. Adaugati scortisoara si coaja rasa de la o o portocala. Amestecati totul din nou si mai lasati pe foc timp de 3 minute. Cand umplutura este gata, opriti focul si lasati-o la racit.
Scoateti aluatul din frigider si impartiti aluatul in 2 bile. Intindeti fiecare bila pentru a forma o foaie de aluat. Puneti prima foie de aluat intr-o tava tapetata cu hartie de copt. Peste aluat adaugati umplutura de mere. Puneti si cealalta foie de aluat pe care ati intins-o. Faceti orificii in foaia de aluat cu ajutorul unei furculite (pentru a permite aburilor sa iasa). Ungeti placinta cu un galbenus de ou batut pentru a obtine o crusta aurie. Dati tava la cuptor (preincalzit la 220 °C) timp de 45-50 minute sau pana cand aluatul este bine rumenit. Cat timp sta placinta la cuptor, puteti face sosul de caramel.
Pentru a realiza sosul de caramel, puneti zaharul intr-o oala pe foc. Amestecati in mod constant pana cand zaharul se topeste si devine auriu. Adaugati untul si amestecati foarte bine cu o lingura. Puneti treptat din smantana lichida (care este la temperatura camerei). In timp ce puteti smantana, amestecati pentru a forma un sos omogen. La sfarsit adaugati un praf de sare.
Eu am servit aceasta placinta cu inghetata de vanilie dar puteti opta si pentru alta aroma. Reteta se face usor, este simpla si foarte delicioasa!

· 120 grams cold butter, cut into cubes;
· 60 milliliters cold water;
· 150 grams sugar;
· 1/4 teaspoon salt;
· 8 medium apples;
· 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon;
· 1 raw egg yolk;
· zest from 1 orange, finely grated.
Ingredients for the caramel sauce:
· 200 grams sugar;
· 120 milliliters cooking cream;
· 50 grams butter;
· a pinch of salt.

Preparation time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Method of preparation:
In a bowl, add the flour, 2 teaspoons sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Add the cold butter cubes and work them into the dry ingredients. Gradually add the cold water and knead just until the dough starts to come together. Once the dough is uniform, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. While the dough is chilling, prepare the apple filling.
In a pot, add the peeled, washed, and coarsely grated apples. Add 140 grams sugar and mix with a spoon. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until the apples soften. Add the cinnamon and the finely grated orange zest, mix again, and cook for another 3 minutes. When the filling is ready, turn off the heat and let it cool.
Remove the dough from the fridge and divide it into 2 balls. Roll out each ball into a sheet. Place the first sheet in a baking pan lined with baking paper. Add the apple filling, then cover with the second sheet of dough. Pierce the top crust with a fork to allow steam to escape. Brush the pie with the beaten egg yolk to get a golden crust. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is nicely browned. While the pie is baking, you can make the caramel sauce.
To make the caramel sauce, add the sugar to a saucepan over heat and stir constantly until the sugar melts and turns golden. Add the butter and stir very well. Gradually pour in the room temperature cooking cream, stirring as you pour, until you get a smooth sauce. At the end, add a pinch of salt.
I served this pie with vanilla ice cream, but you can choose any flavor you like. The recipe is easy, simple, and very delicious!
