Fasole batuta cu sos de ceapa/Mashed beans with onion sauce
Ingrediente:
- 400 grame fasole alba sau rosie fiarta;
- 2 cepe;
- 2 catei de usturoi;
- 3 linguri de ulei;
- 3 linguri pasta de tomate;
- 1 foaie de dafin;
- 1 lingurita de zahar;
- sare;
- piper;
- cimbru usucat.

Mod de preparare:
Ceapa se curata si se spala. O jumatate de ceapa am taiat-o marunt pentru a o adauga in fasolea batuta iar o ceapa si jumatate am taiat-o julienne pentru a o pune la sos. Fasolea care a fiert, se scurge de apa si se pune intr-un bol. Peste fasole se adauga ceapa taiata marunt, 1 catel de usuroi zdrobit, 1 lingura de ulei, sare si piper dupa gust. Mixati totul cu ajutorul mixerului vertical pana cand toate ingredientele sunt bine omogenizate.
Intr-o tigaie se pun 2 linguri de ulei. Cand tigaia s-a incins se adauga ceapa si se lasa pana cand capata o tenta aurie. Adaugati o cana de apa, pasta de tomate, usturoiul zdrobit, foaia de dafin, zahar, sare, piper, cimbru uscat si amestecati totul foarte bine. Lasati la fiert pana cand apa scade si sosul se ingroasa. Cand sosul este gata puteti sa scoateti foaia de dafin. Serviti sosul impreuna cu fasolea batuta si paine proaspata.

2 garlic cloves;
3 tablespoons oil;
3 tablespoons tomato paste;
1 bay leaf;
1 teaspoon sugar;
salt;
black pepper;
dried thyme.

Method of preparation:
Peel and wash the onions. Finely chop half an onion to add to the mashed beans, and slice one and a half onions into thin strips for the sauce. Drain the cooked beans well and place them in a bowl. Add the finely chopped onion, 1 crushed garlic clove, 1 tablespoon oil, salt, and black pepper to taste, then blend with an immersion blender until smooth and well combined.
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan. When the pan is hot, add the sliced onions and cook until they turn lightly golden. Add a cup of water, the tomato paste, the crushed garlic, the bay leaf, sugar, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme, and mix very well. Simmer until the water reduces and the sauce thickens. When the sauce is ready, remove the bay leaf. Serve the onion sauce with the mashed beans and fresh bread.
